Moving On Change Programme outputs

Since 2023, we have been travelling together through the 'Moving On' Change Programme – a journey that has not only shaped the way we think about transitions, but has also deepened our understanding of what it takes to create supportive, meaningful change for young people.

At its heart, 'Moving On' has been about listening: listening to the voices of care experienced young people, listening to practitioners who walk alongside them, and listening to the wider system that seeks to improve outcomes. Through workshops, reflective spaces and shared learning, we have created a place where honesty, challenge and hope have been held together.

Where we have been

The Staf team has also developed a new Learning & Development strategy to support our members, with particular focus on the areas identified in 100 Days, the local authority survey and our 2025 reflective supervision residentials. This led us to develop our current L&D plan, which will be delivered through our upcoming focus groups and forums, conference, summit, and other future learning events into 2026 and beyond. Our members have the opportunity to influence the content and delivery of our learning programme throughout this time. Please just get in touch with us.

Where we are going

By 2030, Scotland’s care experienced young people will feel safe, happy, loved and prepared as they move from childhood to adulthood and care experienced adults will be able to access help and support when they need it.

As we move into the next chapter – route mapping – the work takes on new weight and importance. Route mapping is more than a planning exercise; it is about co-creating pathways that hold meaning, direction and purpose. It recognises that the journey is not linear, but that clarity, guidance and structure are essential for confidence and momentum.

Route mapping is our collective opportunity to turn vision into reality, ensuring a collective understanding of how we will keep the promise to young people moving on from care.
